Installation is where a beautifully built cabinet either becomes a beautifully finished room — or a source of gaps, misaligned doors, and drawers that catch. At Plano Elite Cabinets, installation is not a hand-off to a day crew. Every case we set in Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, and Richardson is placed by our own W-2 installers, on our payroll, using the same standards we hold in the shop.
Older East and Central Plano homes rarely have plumb walls or level floors — that takes time to scribe and shim correctly, and we quote for it up front. New builds in West Plano and Frisco have their own challenges: 10-foot ceilings, integrated appliance panels, and unforgiving inset reveals. Whichever house you own, our installers arrive with the same kit — laser levels, dead-blow mallets, scribe planes, biscuit joiners — and the same expectation, that reveals are equal, doors line up, and the finished job looks like furniture.
We install cabinetry from our own custom design and fabrication program most of the time, but we also install from other shops when the construction meets our standards. If your existing boxes are still sound, look at refacing and refinishing or repair and restoration first. When cabinets need to blend with the rest of the house, pair install with custom millwork and woodworking and start with a 3D rendering.

What an Install-Day Really Looks Like
Every install day has the same rhythm — protect, dry-fit, set, scribe, hardware, punch. Here's how we run it.
Protection & Prep
Ram Board on floors, zip walls at openings, and drop cloths on adjacent surfaces. Existing appliances and countertops (if being reused) are protected before a single case comes in the door.

Dry-Fit & Set
Bases are dry-fit as a run, shimmed level to a laser line, and screwed together before any wall attachment. Wall cabinets are hung to a French cleat or ledger for perfectly straight bottoms.

Scribing, Fillers & Reveals
Filler strips, end panels, and toe kicks are scribed to the wall and floor with a compass and hand plane so gaps disappear. On inset work, hinge shims dial reveals to 1/16 inch or better.

Do you install cabinets you didn't fabricate?
Yes — we install cabinets from other shops and select semi-custom brands for Plano homeowners and builders, provided the cabinets meet basic construction standards. We inspect deliveries before install day.
How long does installation take?
A standard 20–24 linear-foot Plano kitchen installs in 2–3 days. Full inset kitchens run 3–5 days because scribing and shimming for perfect reveals takes more time.
Do you use your own installers or subcontractors?
Our own W-2 installers, on our payroll. No day-labor sub crews. The same lead installer usually stays with a job start to finish.
Will you coordinate with my countertop, plumber, and electrician?
Yes. We hand off dimensions to your fabricator on day one of install, and we set the schedule with your plumber and electrician so hookups happen the day after cabinets are set.
How do you handle out-of-plumb walls in older Plano homes?
We scribe filler strips and end panels to the wall, shim cases dead-level regardless of subfloor slope, and adjust hinge and drawer reveals so the finished cabinets look square even when the framing isn't.
Do you install cabinets in bathrooms, laundry rooms, and garages too?
Yes. Kitchens are most of our work, but we install vanities, laundry-room cabinetry, home-office built-ins, and garage systems every week across Collin County.
Are you insured?
Fully insured with general liability and workers' comp. We can provide certificates naming your builder or HOA on request before we start.
What if something is damaged on install day?
We inspect every case on unload. If we find or cause damage, we replace or repair the piece from our shop — that is the advantage of using a local Plano fabricator-installer rather than a shipped-in brand.
Can you install crown, light rail, and toe kicks to match existing trim?
Yes — we bring our millwork crew for trim, crown, light rail, and toe kicks, and match existing profiles in the house where needed.
