Refinishing keeps your existing doors, sands them back to bare wood, conditions the grain, and rebuilds the finish from stain through top-coat with the same shop-grade material. Both approaches routinely outperform painted-over factory cabinets from big-box brands.

Refinishing — Restore What's Already Yours
Doors and drawer fronts come to our shop. We sand back to bare wood, condition the grain, apply new stain or pigmented topcoat, and spray sealer plus two coats of conversion varnish. Boxes get the same product hand-applied on site.

What is the difference between refacing and refinishing?
Refinishing keeps your existing doors and drawer fronts, sands them, and applies a new stain or paint. Refacing replaces the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior veneer of the boxes with new material, keeping only the box shell.
Are my existing cabinets good candidates?
If the boxes are ¾-inch plywood or solid wood and structurally sound, yes. Particle-board boxes with water damage or delaminating veneer are usually better replaced — we tell you honestly at the in-home measure.
How long does refacing take in Plano?

Can you spray finish on-site or is it shop-only?

How much cheaper is refacing than new cabinets?
Refacing runs about 40–60% of the cost of new custom cabinets in the same layout. It's the right call when the layout works and the boxes are sound.
What door styles are available for refacing?
The same styles we build for new construction — shaker, slab, beaded inset, and mitered raised-panel — in maple, oak, cherry, walnut, and paint-grade.
Do you also change the layout during refacing?
Refacing keeps the existing layout. If you want to move a wall, relocate the range, or add an island, that is a full remodel — see custom design and fabrication.
Do painted cabinets yellow over time?
Not with the pigmented conversion varnish we spray. Consumer-grade latex over primer yellows within a few years in a kitchen; professional-grade catalyzed finishes do not.
